Photography & Travelling are the root of inspiration for Henrie Haldanes Paintings. Her commissions & travels have taken her around the world, visiting fascinating places, enabling her to portray and translate these memories into a sequence of paintings, inspired largely by Southern India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Mexico, Andalucia & Morocco.
Haldane is a prolific exhibitor & has an impressive array of collectors. Her paintings are collected and exhibited worldwide in both Private & corporate collections, with an impressive portfolio of places which include UK & channel islands to Miami, Cannes, Milan & Dublin.
Born in Yorkshire & having lived in the Canary Islands & the French Alps, Henrie is Inspired largely by a love of vast expanses of nature and her varying surroundings, be it huge impressive skies, the coast, mountains, landscapes and sunsets or city scenes & Architecture.
Her continual exploration of colour, depth &light, results in an eclectic series of paintings brimming with passion and energy, which she hopes, provoke an emotional experience. Haldane’s paintings have been compared to both that of the great landscape artist Turner, to the abstract symbolist painter, Klimpt.

Henrie’s paintings constantly evolve & are totally from her imagination. Fascinated by colour, depth & light, she continually experiments with techniques & re worked layers, which result in an eclectic series of paintings, consisting of a strong variation of themes & highly contrasting styles: - from Atmospheric ethereal landscapes, Seascapes & cityscapes influenced by Turner, to highly decorative Abstract, textural paintings, using Gold leaf and decoupage…Inspired by Rothko & Klimpt. Her technique is mainly oil paint, mixed with lots of linseed oil & Scumble glaze & she often incorporates texture using mixed media & decoupage...
Trademark to Haldanes work are her deep canvas stretchers, with the painting following around the sides, usually unframed, the canvas allows a sense of freedom, leaving the composition unconstrained like a natural landscape, encouraging the viewer to make their own interpretations of the subject matter. Each painting is created with immense passion & energy & has a story on the back and a tiny trace of gold leaf, to bring luck…

Henrie has acquired numerous commissions worldwide, both Private & Corporate. Her commissions have varied from works for Ski chalets, in Kloisters & France, Restaurants & Houseboats in London, Private works for Hongkong, Monaco & South Africa, to working with Interior Designers, Galleries & Art Consultants, on specific Projects for clients around the world.
Commissioning is a great way to have a unique painting, specifically created for your space. Canvas can be tailor made to fit to any specified size & wherever possible, Henrie will travel to your environment, to measure up and discuss your requirements.
Viewings by appointment can be made during the commission to see the work in Progress.
